Grand Central Terminal - Systems Upgrades - MTA/Metro-North Railroad - New York, NY

Project Detail: Arora has designed electrical, mechanical, fire protection, and communications upgrades to Grand Central's building systems. Features include new sprinkler zones and fire alarm interface between the Metro-North Railroad's and New York City Transit's systems. Throughout the project, the age, complexity, and historic nature of the terminal were factored into design. Project Benefit: Since its opening in 1871, the Grand Central Terminal has been an architectural and mass transit icon in American history. The famous structure, designated a National Historic Landmark in 1976, has gone through several renovations in recent years. Arora is proud to play a part in its preservation.
