Arora Shortlisted for the Redevelopment of 30th Street Station
Amtrak is in the final stages of choosing a master developer for the William H. Gray III 30th Street Station in Philadelphia. According to Amtrak, new developments set to reinvigorate the almost 100-year old station will include new amenities, retail and commercial opportunities, as well as improved transit and pedestrian traffic flow. Arora is very proud to make the master developer shortlist, including:
- Plenary Infrastructure PHL – Plenary, SOM, Pennoni, Arora, Urban, AKRF, Gilbane Building, Johnson Controls, Vantage and Republic
- Brandywine Realty Trust – Brandywine, Pelli Clarke, Pelli Architects, WSP and CBRE
- G30 Collaborative – Meridiam, Gensler, Gannett Fleming, Turner Construction, Aramark, MarketPlace and WeWork
- PHL 30 Vision LLC – JLL, FXCollaborative, AKF, Pennoni, ARUP, Jingoli and JLL
Officials are expected to make their decision in 2019. Natalie Shieh, Amtrak Senior Program Manager, says “By partnering with the right development team, Amtrak will update this major transportation hub as a world-class gateway for the traveling public and Philadelphia.” 30th Street is Amtrak’s third-busiest station, serving more than 4 million Amtrak passengers and 8 million rail commuters a year.
