Arora Proudly Sponsors the Queen City Airport 75th Anniversary Celebration
Arora was a proud sponsor of Queen City Airport’s 75th anniversary celebration on Saturday, August 25th. The Queen City Airport in Allentown, PA, originally known as Convair Field, was dedicated on October 10, 1943 to support the production of components for the BT-13 Valient Trainer and B-24 Liberator Bomber. When operating at full capacity, the airport employed several thousand people and became the area’s second largest industry.
After the war, the airport served a variety of other functions, including an emergency landing field, flight training and exercises, airshows, and hot air balloon events. Queen City is now a popular home of general aviation operations such as flight schools, helicopter charters, and hangar space.
The goal of the celebration was to bring members of the Greater Lehigh Valley community together to enjoy an exciting day of family-friendly activities. The event was free to the public and included World War II memorabilia, a classic car show, history speakers, aerial performances, helicopter rides, games, food trucks, fireworks, and more! Everyone had a wonderful day celebrating the legacy of this historic airport, and Arora was very proud to be a part of it.
