The Arora team was honored to attend the opening ceremony and ribbon cutting for the Lehigh Valley International Airport (LVIA) Multimodal Transportation Facility on August 8, 2017. From its inception, the focus of this project was to enhance the customer experience at LVIA by making the following improvements:

  • Reducing walking distances from the terminal to the rental cars by 700 feet
  • Providing weather protected walkways and improving safety by eliminating passenger/vehicle conflict points
  • Designating areas for bus services from LANTA and Trans Bridge Lines, Inc.
  • Doubling the number of existing taxi stands

Through these improvements, the Multimodal Facility will become an official transportation hub for the Lehigh Valley, allowing for greater accessibility to the airport, safer and more convenient travel for passengers, and considerable changes in bus service to and from New York City.

Arora was proud to serve as an extension of the Lehigh-Northampton Airport Authority (LNAA) staff and to lead the entire project life cycle of the new facility from design and procurement to its completion. The design included mechanical, electrical, plumbing, area lighting, wayfinding, security, special systems, and project management efforts of the design team and stakeholders. The team also continued to provide construction management services to ensure adherence to schedules and budgets until the completion of the facility. Funding for the project included a $1.75 million grant from the Multimodal Transportation Fund through the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation Bureau of Aviation, which Arora helped to secure.
