Manik Arora Wins 2024 Engineer of the Year!

We are proud to announce that the Delco Chapter of the Pennsylvania Society of Professional Engineers (PSPE) has awarded Manik Arora, PE, President and CEO of Arora Engineers (Arora) as the 2024 Engineer of the Year. The award is given each year to a candidate who resides or is employed in Delaware County or Southern Chester County and is evaluated against a rigorous criterion including professional achievement and contributions to community.

Manik has over three decades of specialized experience, including the design and construction management of aviation, transportation, education, and government projects. He is a registered Professional Engineer in over 30 states. Manik began his career in aviation nearly three decades ago as an intern with the City of Philadelphia’s Division of Aviation while studying at Drexel University. Upon graduating from Drexel University in 1992 with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Manik assumed a leadership role in 2006, succeeding his father, Manohar (Mike) Arora, MS, PE, founder of Arora. His father is a former President and board member of the Delaware County Chapter PSPE and the first ever recipient of the Chapter’s Lifetime Achievement Award in 2006.

Manik has driven Arora’s remarkable expansion with a revenue increase of over 1100% in the last decade. Under his guidance, Arora successfully acquired firms, broadening its professional offerings Internationally and prioritizing technology for enhanced infrastructure, efficiency, safety, and user convenience. Throughout the years, Arora Engineers has garnered a variety of prestigious awards, including ranking #6 in Building Design+Construction’s Top 65 Airport Facility Engineering Firms for 2023 in the annual Giants 400 report, #55 in the 2023 MEP Giants list, as recognized by Consulting-Specifying Engineer Magazine, #380 in Engineering News-Record’s 2023 Top 500 Design Firms list, and Inc.’s 2023 Best in Business list in the Engineering category for the past 10 years, and more!

Actively engaged in professional societies like the Airport Consultants Council, American Association of Airport Executives, IEEE, NFPA, NSPE, and SAME, Manik demonstrates commitment to the engineering and technology sectors. Manik has spearheaded Arora’s involvement with Liberty USO and serves as a USO board member bringing aviation industry leaders from the greater Philadelphia area together to raise funds for the Liberty USO Center at the Philadelphia International Airport. Over the past several years, due to Manik’s dedication, the firm has raised nearly $700,000 for the local USO chapter, including over $88,000 this year alone. Arora, under Manik’s leadership, supports M/W/DBE businesses, fostering diversity within the organization where over half the staff represents minority or female demographics. Leading initiatives for minority firms in prime contracts solidifies Arora’s commitment to diversity. Manik’s contributions earned recognition, including the Society of Indo-American Engineers & Architects Distinguished Member of the Year and consistent acknowledgment from the Philadelphia Business Journal’s Minority Business Leaders award, reflecting his impactful presence in the field.

Manik and his fellow awardee’s Edward Magargee and Aero Aggregates were recognized during the nation’s celebration of Engineers Week at a banquet on February 22, 2024, at Anthony’s Ristorante & Ballroom in Springfield, Pennsylvania.

Manik’s visionary leadership, demonstrated through Arora’s unprecedented growth and unwavering support for diversity and community engagement, exemplifies the highest standards of professional achievement. Manik’s recognition during National Engineers Week serves as a testament to his enduring impact on the field and his steadfast commitment to advancing engineering excellence for the betterment of society.
