Manik K. Arora, P.E. | President & CEO
As the President and CEO of Arora, Manik is responsible for the administration and management of the firm. His duties include business development, project oversight, and client relations. He jump-started his engineering career as a co-op student with the City of Philadelphia's Division of Aviation. Manik has over 18 years of specialized experience in the planning, design, and construction management of airside and landside projects for major hub airports, airlines, and support facilities. His primary areas of management include: primary/secondary voltage, airfield lighting systems, electrical service equipment, third rail power distribution, security access control, universal cable distribution systems, and telecommunications. Manik graduated from Drexel University in 1992 with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering. He is registered in more than 10 states. Manik is also involved in several professional organizations, including: Society of American Military Engineers, Institute of Electrical & Electronic Engineers, National Fire Protection Association, National Society of Professional Engineers, Engineers' Club of Philadelphia, American Airports Council, and American Association of Airport Executives.

Manohar (Mike) L. Arora, M.S., P.E. | Chairman
Mike has more than 44 years of comprehensive experience in planning, engineering design, and construction. Mike is instrumental in defining Arora's mission and vision - past and future. As Chairman, he is involved in the overall operation of the firm. He advises on complex management, legal, financial, and recruiting, while also providing strategic direction. Mike earned a M.S. in Engineering Science from Penn State University in 1980, and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Mysore (India) in 1967. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, and Maryland. Additionally, Mike holds a State of Delaware Office of State Fire Marshall: Class I Fire Alarm Signaling Systems License. He is a member of the Engineers Club of Philadelphia, National Fire Protection Association, and the National Society of Professional Engineers.

Robert Murray, PE | Director of Operations
Mr. Murray has more than 16 years of experience in planning, design, construction administration, code enforcement, and facilities management. As Arora's Director of Operations, he provides direction and leadership to the Design Team. Mr. Murray also oversees departmental and project managers, as well as the scope, schedule, and budget of projects. Prior to Arora, he served as the Deputy Commissioner of the Facilities Management Division for the City of Philadelphia's Department of Public Property, and held several positions in the City's Department of Licenses and Inspections. Mr. Murray is a Professional Engineer registered in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. He is also a Certified Building Code Official, Building Plans Examiner/Inspector, Mechanical Plans Examiner/Inspector, Accessibility Plans Examiner/Inspector, and Energy Plans Examiner by the International Code Council and Pennsylvania's Department of Labor and Industry. He holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Drexel University, where he also serves as an Adjunct Instructor in the Construction Management Program of the College of Professional Studies.

Eugene F. Riley | Controller
Mr. Riley has more than 25 years of experience. As Arora's Controller, he is responsible for the oversight of profit and loss, cost controls, tax reporting, cash flow, payroll, financial reporting, and forecasting. He has a B.S. in Business Administration/Accounting from Drexel University.

Patti Gibson | Marketing Manager
Patti has more than 15 years of professional services marketing experience, including 11 years in the A/E services industry. Her areas of expertise include internal and external communications, proposal development, market research, content management, and database management. Patti earned a M.A. in Political Science (1999), and a B.A. in Journalism (1996), both from Temple University. She serves on the Executive Board of the Women's Transportation Seminar (WTS), Philadelphia Chapter, and is a member of SMPS and the Engineers' Club of Philadelphia.

Michael W. Oliver, P.E. | Mechanical Engineering - Department Head
Mike has more than 35 years experience in the engineering, design and construction of mechanical systems. He has strong design knowledge and field coordination skills. He has worked in plan and spec as well as fast track type approaches to construction. Designs include heating and air conditioning (VAV and WSHP), highly redundant-high density data centers, commercial kitchens, chiller plants, boiler plants (steam and hot water), ATC systems for control, automated building controls, and central utility systems. Mike's project experience ranges from conceptual phase through post construction commissioning phases. He has performed feasibility studies, due diligence reports, pay back calculations, and project management duties, in addition to the production of plans and specifications. Mike holds a B.S. in Management Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic University (1972). He is a registered Professional Engineer in Pennsylvania. Mike is a member of the American Society of Heating Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Engineers.

Charles W. Thorpe, P.E. | Electrical Engineering – Department Head
Chuck has more than 16 years experience in design, coordination, and management of power, telecommunications, grounding, and other building systems. Specialized areas of expertise include: 60/400 Hz power conversion, DC power, UPS power, grounding and bonding systems, lightning protection systems, commercial high voltage utilities, security, and motor control systems. Management experience includes leading applied R&D and design engineering groups, and coordinating integrated power system design teams and cell phone site design teams. Chuck earned his B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Widener University in 1991. He is a registered as a Professional Engineer in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware. Chuck is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers, as well as the National Fire Protection Association.

Kalpesh S.Trivedi | Director of Aviation Construction
K.T. has strong experience in construction and program management, construction inspection, and quality control. He currently serves as Arora's onsite Project Manager assisting the City of Philadelphia's Division of Aviation with projects at Philadelphia International Airport (PHL). He is responsible for all aspects of project engineering, including: the review of design, contract drawings; project schedule, shop drawings; bid process; coordination of drawings for installation suitability; submittals; RFIs; field directives; letters of correspondence; estimates for payments; pay applications; and change orders. K.T. also oversees construction to assure that installations of materials are in compliance with contract drawings, specifications, and applicable industry codes. He coordinates closely with the airport's Operations, Security, Engineering, and IT departments, as well as with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the TSA/FSD, and the Custom Board and Port Authority (CBP). K.T. graduated from Drexel University in 2001 with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering.

Frederick Lock, Jr., SET | General Manager
Mr. Lock has more than 30 years of experience with fire/life safety systems, central station alarm monitoring, security and surveillance systems, factory sound/clock systems, and facilities maintenance management. He is adept at managing field technicians, inspectors, and other operations and service professionals. Mr. Lock achieved NICET Level IV certification in fire alarm and detection systems. He is a Licensed NJ State Fire Official, a NTS Level I Technician, and a SIA/APCO Certified Central Station Operator Instructor. Additionally, he holds a NJ State Burglar Alarm License, a NJ State Fire Alarm License, a DE State Security License, and a DE State Fire License. Mr. Lock has served with the Volunteer Fire Service of West Deptford Township, NJ for 35 years. During this tenure, he held several positions, including that of fire chief. He also served the township as a police reserve officer. He is a Life Member of the Gloucester County Fire Chiefs Association and Past President of the Pennsylvania Burglar and Fire Alarm Association (Southeast Region). Mr. Lock remains active with the Pennsylvania Burglar and Fire Alarm Association, as well as the New Jersey Burglar and Fire Alarm Association.

Earl M. Carter | CAD Manager
Mr. Carter has more than 20 years experience in the design industry. His expertise includes Revit, AutoCad, and project management. He developed innovative CAD standards and procedures for Arora, and in the past for his former employers and the City of Philadelphia's Division of Aviation. He has extensive knowledge of FAA policies, procedures, and advisory circulars.
