Cape May Ferry Paralleling Switchgear Replacement

Cape May Ferry Terminal Paralleling Switchgear Replacement

Arora is providing electrical engineering services for the replacement of the paralleling switchgear at the Cape May Ferry Terminal.

The terminal facility has a building that houses two 500kW generators, paralleling switchgear, automatic transfer switches and emergency electrical distribution equipment. This existing equipment no longer functions reliably and the building configuration is not ideal.

This project will relocate the existing generators to enable new electrical equipment to be installed alongside the existing gear to maintain continuous operation of the facility with minimum disruption to electrical service. In addition, new paralleling switchgear will be installed to replace the existing. A new wall will be built to provide a physical separation between the generators and the emergency electrical switchgear and distribution, improving configuration.
