City of Philadelphia Department of Public Property, Playground Improvements- Sprayground Additions

Arora Engineers, Inc. (Arora) provided engineering services for the generation of design development, construction documents, and preparation of complete bid packages consistent with the City of Philadelphia’s procurement procedures for sprayground additions at city parks. Assignments required the analysis of existing conditions as an initial step in the development of designs. Facility standards varied by recreation center. Customer input was made a priority at every stage of the project.

The Arora Team provided Electrical, Mechanical and Plumbing existing condition evaluations and the subsequent design of system upgrades to meet the requirements of vendor equipment. The survey included documentation of existing conditions, meeting with DPP staff for input on existing sprayground services, and accessories to meet the needs of each recreation facility. During design, the functional requirements were identified, defined and coordinated with available budget. Arora then progressed through design development and the final design phases of construction documents to produce specifications and drawings for a complete bid package.

SCOPE OF SERVICES INCLUDED:

Construction administration services included project oversight during the construction phase to ensure conformity with the contract plans and specifications. Tasks included reviewing and approving contractor’s submittals and timely response to RFI’s to maintain the project construction schedule. Upon construction completion, Arora provided an itemized punch list and reviewed final acceptance testing. Key task orders under this contract included Plumbing and Electrical for Torresdale Sprayground,and Plumbing and Electrical for Granahan Sprayground.
