City of Philadelphia Fire Administration Building Energy Efficiency Upgrades

Arora Engineers, Inc. (Arora) was selected to provide engineering services for a task order under an on-call design contract with the City of Philadelphia Energy Office. This task order entailed the provision of energy efficiency upgrades to the City of Philadelphia’s 3-story, 48,000 square foot Fire Administration Building (FAB).

Arora was retained to provide electrical engineering and design, HVAC peer review, and bid and construction administration services for electrical scope.

SCOPE OF SERVICES INCLUDED:

Arora provided peer review of HVAC designs, as well as full bid documents for the electrical work required to support the mechanical renovations. In addition, Arora created the CADD backgrounds for use by both firms in creating the bid drawings. Additionally, Arora provided construction phase services including submittal review, responses to RFIs, review of change order requests, punch list inspections, etc. for the electrical design phase of work. Deliverables included:

  • Written list of comments resulting from the peer review of the mechanical design documents.
  • Set of CADD backgrounds for the portions of the building to be renovated.
  • Set of bid documents suitable for public bidding of the electrical portion for the design.
  • Construction phase services for the electrical portion of the work.
