Arora was proud to once again sponsor the 25th Annual March of Dimes Transportation, Building + Construction Awards Luncheon held on Thursday, March 15th at the Pennsylvania Convention Center.

The Service to Humanity Award was presented to Esteban Vera Jr., Business Manager of Laborers’ Local Union 57. Esteban is a North Philadelphia native who, along with his local, consistently serves his community and contributes to the March of Dimes, as well as the Make-A-Wish Foundation, Food for the Poor, the American Cancer Society, Wounded Warriors, and many other organizations. The March of Dimes is near to Esteban’s heart as one of his children was born premature. His healthy, grown daughter proudly stood with him on stage and thanked everyone for donating to such a worthy cause.

The Transportation Project of the Year was awarded to DRPA/PATCO for the Ben Franklin Bridge PATCO Track Rehabilitation. The Sustainability Project of the Year Award was given to the Center City District for Rail Park, and the new Roosevelt Leadership Award was presented to Jeffrey D. Knueppel, PE, General Manager of SEPTA.

This year’s event raised over $610,000 to help fund prenatal wellness initiatives and provide neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) family support programs. The March of Dimes also supports research at Pennsylvania hospitals and universities to prevent birth defects, premature births, and infant mortality. Arora’s President & CEO, Manik Arora, PE, is a member of the event’s Board of Directors.
