Celebrating 5 Years of Service: Honoring our Dedicated Team Members
At Arora Engineers (Arora), we believe that our people are the heart of our success. This year, we’re proud to honor a remarkable group of team members who have reached the milestone of five years of service. Each of them has made invaluable contributions to our projects, our culture, and our clients, and we’re excited to share their reflections on what inspires them, challenges them, and shapes their journey here at Arora.
Let’s hear their stories in their own words.
Meet our Team:
- Alex Alqaq, PE, ICC, LEED AP | Sr. Project Manager
How have your relationships at Arora influenced your career journey?
Over the past six years, several key factors have contributed to my growth as both an engineer and a project manager. These include a strong company culture, focused and supportive leadership, ample opportunities for professional development, and exposure to a wide variety of complex projects. I’ve also gained valuable experience working closely with clients, engaging with different branches of government, and consistently delivering projects on time. These experiences have not only sharpened my technical and managerial skills but also kept me focused on achieving high-quality deliverables and maintaining strong customer satisfaction. - Lynda Baer | Receptionist/Administrative Assistant
What’s one way your role at Arora has shaped who you are today?
The best thing about working here at Arora is the friendships I’ve found. I’m definitely at the “end” of my career and counting the time to retirement and rest. Yes, I’m looking forward to that time, while also realizing that I would not have the day-to-day interactions with the people here that I am so thankful to be working with. I know that many of these friendships will be cherished for a lot longer than my time here at Arora and for that I am truly grateful. - Christyn Binder | Marketing Manager
How have your relationships at Arora influenced your career journey?
I’m endlessly grateful for the relationships I’ve built over the past 6+ years at Arora. I joined the firm as a Marketing Coordinator and, through a series of increasingly challenging and rewarding roles—Sr. Marketing Coordinator, Content Specialist, Content Manager, and now Marketing Manager—I’ve been able to steadily grow into a leadership position that reflects both the trust others have placed in me and the work I’ve put in to keep learning and evolving. Each step of that journey has been shaped by the people around me: from Adam Oliver’s steady mentorship to the technical and operations teams who’ve generously shared their time and expertise. That support has been instrumental in helping me build confidence, expand my perspective, and grow into the kind of leader I aspire to be. - Steve Bisch | Sr. Vice President
What keeps you inspired to grow and contribute at Arora?
I am inspired by the challenges and opportunities that come with helping our clients drive innovation and enhance their operations. Working primarily in the technology sector, I find it exciting to explore the rapidly evolving landscape of tools and solutions that can deliver meaningful value to our clients. Having spent the majority of my career as an owner, I understand firsthand the complexities of balancing day-to-day operations with the pursuit of innovation. This perspective allows me to empathize with our clients’ goals and constraints. At Arora and EDI, I have the opportunity to focus deeply on technology and provide strategic guidance on its optimal use. It is especially rewarding to witness our clients adopt new technologies and realize measurable improvements in efficiency, performance, and service delivery. - Alise Martinez | Manager, Customer Operations
What’s one way your role at Arora has shaped who you are today?
My role at Arora has significantly shaped my perspective on leadership and resilience. As a Manager in Customer Operations, I’ve learned to lead with empathy, adapt quickly to change, and continuously seek improvement. These experiences have deepened my confidence, sharpened my problem-solving skills, and reinforced the importance of being present and proactive in both professional and personal settings. - Sean Sheehan, PE | Mechanical Engineer
Can you share a workplace challenge that helped you grow personally or professionally?
Learning how to look calm while the ceiling is falling, the schedule’s slipping, and someone just asked if ducts can be flexible and invisible — that’s been the biggest challenge. But over time, I’ve gotten better at problem-solving under pressure, communicating clearly, and picking my battles… especially when “value engineering” shows up. - Andruw Szczawinski | Sr. Electrical Designer
What keeps you inspired to grow and contribute at Arora?
At Arora, I’ve had the opportunity to work on a wide variety of projects along with many different teams. Each project has been unique which has helped me develop my electrical skillset along with my BIM expertise. Because of this, I’ve been fortunate enough to grow into a Senior Designer role. Additionally, Arora trusted me to work with a third-party vendor to grow our BIM standards. All these opportunities allow me to stay involved and help contribute to current and future projects. - Raelyn Williams | Sr. Human Resources Manager
What keeps you inspired to grow and contribute at Arora?
I’m driven by the relationships I’ve built, the trust colleagues place in me, and the opportunities that arise where I can help others through the work that I do. I’m also inspired by challenges – they push me to keep learning, adapt, and find new ways to add value. Every day is a chance to make a meaningful impact, and that is what keeps me engaged and motivated.
