Scott Howell has more than 25 years of experience in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and technology consulting, supporting state, local, and federal government agencies, as well as private sector clients. As GIS Practice Lead at Arora Engineers (Arora), Scott works closely with executive leadership to expand Arora’s GIS portfolio through business development, client retention and satisfaction, operational leadership, and the development of best practices.
Scott serves as President-Elect of the Virginia Association for Mapping and Land Information Systems, the statewide GIS organization for the Commonwealth of Virginia. He also previously served as President of the Geospatial Mid-Atlantic Users Group, representing GIS professionals across Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, and the District of Columbia. Scott is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) through the Project Management Institute (PMI) and a Geographic Information Systems Professional (GISP) through the GIS Certification Institute (GISCI).
Throughout his career, Scott has worked with both large and small engineering and technology consulting firms, beginning on technical teams before advancing into management. His collaborative leadership style encourages open communication and continuous improvement, empowering team members to share ideas that improve efficiency and deliver greater value to clients. By fostering teamwork and innovation, Scott helps build strong client relationships and successful project outcomes.
A lifelong sports enthusiast, Scott enjoys both coaching and playing a variety of sports.
