Employee Spotlight: Timmothy Mak, Electrical Designer

  • Employee Spotlight Timmothy Mak

1. How did you come to do what you do?
I learned about MEP from all the Co-Op experiences I had when I was at Drexel University. From my experience, I learned what there was to do in an MEP firm and the different things that go between each discipline. After I graduated, I was presented an opportunity to continue work with my experience in the MEP field.

2. What are your favorite types of projects to work on?
I have been working on several Electrical Vehicle Charging Station projects currently and learned a tremendous amount from just doing these projects. Other projects that I would say are my favorite to work on are facility upgrades whether it is parks or buildings. These facility upgrades just show me how the city that I was born and raised in is growing and getting a fresh look.

3. What is the best career lesson you’ve learned so far?
The best career lesson I’ve learned so far is that I won’t know everything and that’s why there are more experienced people to learn from. I came into this position knowing some things from my previous experience but being around the mentors and people that are guiding me has shown me so much of this field and knowledge that I have learned.

4. What do you enjoy most about working at Arora?
The thing I enjoy most about working at Arora is the environment that I work in. Having a great supporting cast is what you need in a work environment, and I would say that Arora provides me with all the things I need to be successful at my position.

5. Outside of work, what do you like to do for fun?
Outside of work, I enjoy playing basketball, volleyball, and weightlifting for fitness.
