Jae Kwon Promoted to Fire/Life Safety Practice Lead

In support of Arora’s continued growth, we are pleased to announce the promotion of Jae Kwon to Fire/Life Safety (FLS) Practice Lead.

In this role, Jae will oversee Arora’s companywide Fire/Life Safety practice. His sound judgment and extensive experience in fire protection engineering position him to guide our current project portfolio while identifying opportunities to expand the practice beyond traditional system design.

Jae will focus on advancing technical excellence, addressing staffing and resource needs, and helping our teams successfully meet project objectives. His leadership will support the continued growth of the practice while ensuring Arora delivers thoughtful, effective Fire/Life Safety solutions.

Reflecting on the evolving responsibilities of Fire/Life Safety professionals, Jae shared:

“New technologies and materials are being developed and adopted at a pace that often exceeds the ability of codes and standards to keep up. This gap presents challenges for fire and life safety engineers and has widened in recent years. The fire and life safety community—including authorities having jurisdiction (AHJs), manufacturers, researchers, and design professionals—should stay informed about emerging industry trends, recognize gaps in existing requirements, and collaborate to develop appropriate interim measures and criteria while relevant codes and standards are being developed or updated and fire testing is underway.”
