Charleston International Airport West Gates & Connectors

Arora Engineers (Arora) is supporting the Charleston International Airport’s $110 million expansion that will add approximately 50,000 SF of passenger space, four gates, expanded hold rooms, concessions, and international-arrivals connectivity to the airport’s Federal Inspection Services facility. The project will increase CHS gate capacity by 25 percent while supporting the region’s continued growth.

As a subconsultant to Corgan, Arora provided fire protection, fire alarm, and special systems design for the project’s earlier temporary modular gates and connector facility. Our scope included structured cabling, telecommunications rooms and pathways, Wi-Fi and DAS, public address and information display systems, access control, video surveillance, and fire/life safety systems. Arora also provided construction administration support.

For the permanent West Gates concourse, Arora is providing Testing and Commissioning Management as part of the PM/CM team, supporting systems readiness, contractor coordination, testing documentation, and quality assurance.
