Philadelphia Police Department Regional Tactical Training Facility

Arora was involved in the design of a new 28,000 SF facility for the Philadelphia Police Department’s (PPD) K-9, bomb disposal and SWAT team units located on the campus of the Philadelphia Police Academy in Northeast Philadelphia.

The new design includes office space, a 40-space kennel, a four-space isolation kennel, a dog bathing area and food preparation areas. There are also indoor and outdoor dog training areas. The SWAT team portion of the building includes a five-bay garage for the indoor secure storage of several SWAT team vehicles, including armored and weapon-armed vehicles. Common areas include a large training classroom/conference room, a break room/kitchenette, locker and toilet rooms, and a gym.

Arora’s scope of work included HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire protection, special systems, IT design and security consulting services.
